After closing her Melrose Place shop in Los Angeles last year (a casualty of the Covid-19 pandemic), Maria Cornejo is bringing her sustainable luxury fashion brand Zero + Maria Cornejo back to the city for a pop up at Sonia Boyajian jewelry in Los Angeles’ North La Brea neighborhood.
After 18 months of uncertainty, Cornejo is upbeat about being back in California.
“I’m relieved that we all pulled together to make it through, and I’m excited to see how things pick up and to be back in L.A.!”
If you’re lucky enough to be in the area from Thursday, November 4 and Saturday, November 6 stop by between 11am and 6pm at 357 North La Brea Avenue for a curated selection of the Zero + Maria Cornejo 2021 fall and winter collection. Plus, get an exclusive chance to shop first arrivals from the new Resort Capsule 2022 collection, and rosé from Lorenza will be served.

Cornejo said her brand was forced to make several changes and adapt to an uncertain 18 months during which luxury fashion was not necessarily a priority in order to stay afloat. Her team consolidated deliveries into two main collections, spring/summer and fall/winter).
Now, they’re seeing an uptick in shopping again, they’re bringing back smaller capsule collections for a “hit of newness” in between the main collections.
“We had to become much more nimble and edited and really work with our clients to figure out what they were needing at that time,” Cornejo said. “Certain categories, like our Eco Denim and Brushed Terry, took more of a spotlight.
Cornejo’s flagship store on New York’s Bleecker Street, where the brand’s design studio and offices are also located, is still up and running, as is the online shop.
