BEIJING — China stated on Tuesday it is not going to again down within the face of President Trump’s recent risk to impose a further 50% tariff on Chinese language imports, because the commerce battle between the world’s prime two economies appeared set to worsen.

Trump stated on Fact Social he would impose the brand new tariffs on China if Beijing didn’t retract a 34% retaliatory tariff on U.S. items that it introduced in response to Trump’s preliminary salvo final Wednesday.

In a strongly worded assertion, China’s commerce ministry stated the U.S. risk to impose extra tariffs “is adding a mistake on top of a mistake, once again exposing the extortionate nature of the United States, which China will never accept.”

“If the United States obstinately clings to this course, China will have no choice but to see it through to the end,” the assertion stated, including that if the U.S. escalates its tariff measures, “China will resolutely take countermeasures to safeguard its rights and interests.”
