UNI head coach Todd Stepsis stated his coronary heart goes out to the Sutherlands … including the younger man “embodied everything we look for in a UNI Football Panther.” He highlighted Parker’s character, humility, toughness, and love of others.
Coach Stepsis completed his assertion with, “While I’m saddened that our time together was short, we will celebrate the bright light that he brought to our football team for the rest of our lives.”
Value noting … the Des Moines Register reviews first responders had been known as to a UNI athletics facility concerning an “unconscious/fainting (non-trauma)” report. It is unclear if that is related to Sutherland’s passing.
Parker appeared in 4 video games for UNI throughout his freshman season. He was a three-sport athlete at Iowa Metropolis Excessive College.
Parker was 18.
