Throughout 2021, one name has dominated YouTube’s weekly ranking of the most-viewed music videos, as she has released three clips that have gone all the way to No. 1 on the list. This frame, she earns yet another champion, proving that whenever she touches a tune, and it comes with a visual of some kind, millions are sure to watch.
Lisa is back at No. 1 on YouTube’s ranking of the most-viewed music videos in the world this week with her latest effort, “SG.” The single and video, which is also credited to Ozuna, DJ Snake and Megan Thee Stallion, debuts atop the tally, and it didn’t have any issue opening as the most successful clip on the internet. The tune racked up an impressive 46.1 million plays in the first seven days it was available.
With a little more than 46 million views in its first week, “SG” easily claims the throne for itself on YouTube’s weekly chart, and it beats a very popular video from a familiar face. The collaborative cut beats Lisa’s own “Money” performance visual, which holds in the runner-up space with almost another 30 million clicks to its credit. “SG” wins the week by a little more than 16 million plays, a sizable margin between Nos. 1 and 2.
With “SG” hitting No. 1 on the weekly YouTube global chart, Lisa has now collected a trio of champions in 2021. That’s a massive feat, and one reserved for only the biggest stars in the world. It’s also especially noteworthy considering the fact that until just about two months ago, Lisa had never released music on her own. For years, she stuck to working with Blackpink, the South Korean girl group that made her a superstar. Now, she’s conquered the ranking with all of her solo efforts.
MORE FOR YOU
Lisa easily dominated the YouTube global chart with her debut solo music video, “Lalisa,” which arrived with an incredible 73.6 million views in just its first 24 hours, to say nothing of its first full week. That clip currently holds as the visual with the sixth-largest single-day start in YouTube history.
After Lisa moved on from promoting that smash, she focused on the tune’s B-side, a song called “Money.” That tune, which came with what’s called a performance video (as opposed to a proper music video), led the charge on the YouTube global chart of the most-viewed music videos several weeks running, and it regularly appears close to the top, even when it’s not in charge.
2021 has shown that Lisa is a force to be reckoned with on YouTube, and chances are whenever she has another music video come out, it will become one more No. 1 for the singer and rapper.
