“I’m very cussed in what I determine to play in and it might profit me if I used to be open to taking part in totally different stuff, so [playing men] is unquestionably a chance.

“It’s not the women’s fault, I just want to be a better player than I am now, be more comfortable on the stage. It’s hard to go up there when you are not used to playing the top players.

“I did not play very properly [on Sunday] and felt I used to be going to get beat earlier than I went on stage. I’ve had an excellent girls’ profession however possibly if I’m going to get any higher I must push myself.

Greaves wins World Matchplay

Beau Greaves efficiently retains the Girls’s World Matchplay title with a 6-3 victory over Fallon Sherrock.

“I’d love to be at the standard to play against the men all the time. It’s just right now I don’t think I can. I know I’ve got the game, it’s whether it happens on stage or not.

“The troublesome half is the not figuring out. I do know what I need to achieve this hopefully I can get that sorted.

“I have enjoyed playing here [at the Grand Slam] this year more than last year. I know my results aren’t quite as good, which is annoying, so it’s about playing better players and making myself hardened.

“I would love a Tour card in some unspecified time in the future, I simply do not know when. I am not in a rush and there may be nothing fallacious being blissful the place you might be in your life and what you have accomplished.

“I have won a hell of a lot of darts tournaments so I want to do it in my own time. That’s my whole attitude to the game: appreciate what you’ve done and where you’ve been to get it.

“I have been via onerous occasions so I am not going to be too onerous on myself after this weekend.”

Choice between Ally Pally and Lakeside is ‘stupid’: ‘I would love to do both’

Despite being the best women’s player on the planet, Greaves insists that growing the women’s game and ensuring the standard of the women’s game as a whole improves and gets bigger is her main focus.

PDC chief executive officer Matt Porter says he gets Beau Greaves' decision to play at this year's WDF Lakeside instead of the PDC's World Championships but hopes to see at the Ally Pally in the near future.

PDC chief govt officer Matt Porter says he will get Beau Greaves’ resolution to play at this 12 months’s WDF Lakeside as an alternative of the PDC’s World Championships however hopes to see on the Ally Pally within the close to future.

“The ladies’ game is massive to me. I wanted to be a women’s world champion and I got that at Lakeside, so I can’t not go back. I don’t know why people would think I wouldn’t do that,” Greaves mentioned.

“The game is not just made up of me, Fallon [Sherrock], Lisa [Ashton] and whoever. There is a whole bunch of us that need to get better. Hopefully other ladies can get involved and back each other.

“I do not actually need me to do this properly. I simply need the the women’ sport to get larger and greater. I’m extra for that type of stuff. They deserve it. As good as the boys are to look at on telly, there may be room for the women.

“There are 100, 200 players who want to play but don’t think they are good enough for the men’s game. I want to make sure I am flying the flag for them who don’t get mentioned.

“It is a disgrace they make you select [Ally Pally or Lakeside]. I do not perceive that, I believe it is silly. I might like to do each,” she added.

“I would not win Ally Pally however I might give it a very good crack and see if I performed properly – however finally I need to be a girls’ world champion.”
