The Georgian-inspired three-story has a limestone and red brick facade.

This newly built house in Toronto’s Lytton Park may be the freshest face on the block, but it looks right at home. The Georgian-inspired three-story is in keeping with the classic styles of existing houses in the community.

Once farmland and a rural suburb of Toronto, the neighborhood was originally made up of mostly Georgian and Tudor-style homes, many of which date from around 1890 to 1930. During the period from 1920 to 1945 local architectural tastes expanded to include American Foursquare, Victorian and Colonial designs.

A central foyer and inlaid floors set the tone for the rest of the house.

The exclusive area known as Lytton Park, with its tree-lined streets, large lots and manicured gardens, takes its name from an actual park – a sunken garden with winding staircases, balcony overlooks and mature maple, elm and spruce trees.

The custom mansion by the Canada-based design-build group Nuvo Homes, in collaboration with architect Stan Makow and Sachiko Designs, sits on a corner lot near the end of a cul-de-sac.

The sunny breakfast room has windows on three sides.

Five steps lead up a column-supported portico at the front of the red brick house. Limestone accents surround the windows and garage doors. A trio of arched dormer windows project from the mansard roof. The driveway and walkways are heated.

An atrium-like breakfast room off the kitchen has windows on three sides. The open-concept kitchen, outfitted with Wolf and Meile appliances, also borders a living area with a fireplace.

A fireplace flanked by tall windows creates a focal point in the formal living room.

A more formal living room adjoins the dining room. Generous ceiling heights add a sense of spaciousness in the home office.

The primary bedroom features a raised and vaulted ceiling, a fireplace and a wall of built-ins. The room opens to a balcony.

The upper level contains additional bedrooms, bathrooms and a family room that opens to a landing.

The primary bedroom features a raised ceiling, white oak floors and a fireplace.

A eucalyptus wood wall backs the stairs and spans all floors. An elevator also connects the levels.

Some 9,520 square feet of living and loft space, along with another nearly 3,300 on the lower level, total close to 13,000 square feet. There are five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

A wine cellar, a gym, a home theater and a game room with a wet bar and fireplace occupy the bottom floor.

Other features include rift-cut white oak hardwood, radiant heated floors and smart home technology.

A terrace along the back of the house steps down to the back yard and swimming pool.

A dining terrace overlooks the rear yard and the swimming pool.

Barry Cohen of Barry Cohen Homes is the listing agent for 103 Lytton Blvd., Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The asking price is CAD 10.9 million or about US $8.7 million.

Parks, schools and shops are within walking distance. Toronto Pearson International Airport is about 18 kilometers, or 11 miles, away.
