WWE Extreme Rules 2021 Results—Sunday, September 26, 2021
The New Day def. Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles and Omos
NBC Peacock had another gaffe as WWE Extreme Rules aired two different commentary languages at the same time.
The New Day was extremely over in front of a hot crowd in Columbus, OH.
If anything, this marathon match set up a Triple Threat Match between AJ Styles, Big E and Bobby Lashley.
The Usos vs. The Street Profits—WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships
The second Michael Cole started telling the story of Montez Ford not being 100%, I knew The Street Profits were doomed.
Montez Ford singlehandedly created a “This Is Awesome” chant with more of his signature high-flying and dives.
This match ended in the rare Double Usos Splash.
Bobby Lashley continues to have the monopoly over the s-word s he referred to Big E as a chichens—t.
Charlotte Flair def. Alexa Bliss—WWE Raw Women’s Championship
This hot crowd was very much behind Alexa Bliss.
This was a very good match, and I can confirm 1,500 fans did not walk out during this match.
Charlotte Flair tore Lily to shreds and fans gasped in horror. Fans even chanted “Thank you Lilly” as she was mourning the loss of the doll.
Maybe Alexa Bliss is sad at the loss of her Lilly doll because they really are, in fact, sold out and there’s no way for her to get another.
Damian Priest def. Jeff Hardy and Sheamus—WWE United States Championship
Sheamus hilariously mocked Jeff Hardy while on the top ropes, preparing to deliver a flying knee.
These fans wanted Jeff Hardy to win this match so bad. At one point, Priest and Hardy were exchanging strikes and Priest was overwhelmingly booed.
This was the hottest United States Championship match in recent memory.
Bianca Belair def. Becky Lynch by Disqualification—WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch dressed in all white the way Seth Rollins has been known to.
As expected, the crowd was split right down the middle, chanting for both “Let’s go Becky!” and “EST!”
Becky Lynch called out Michael Cole for putting words in her mouth when she heard him say Lynch must have been thinking “What have I gotten myself into?”
This was a great match until Sasha Banks interfered, which actually sounds like the perfect finish given it protected both top stars on SmackDown.
Roman Reigns def. Finn Balor—WWE Universal Championship
Fans almost immediately started chanting “We want tables!” when this match started.
The Demon showcased a triple kendo stick, but nothing got a bigger pop than the table he pulled from under the ring. Ever the great heel, Reigns slid the table back under the ring.
In the past couple of months, Finn Balor has been upstaged by John Cena, Brock Lesnar and a table.
Balor gave Roman Reigns a taste of his own medicine by low-blowing Reigns while kicking out.
Balor gave a very weak-looking power bomb to Jey Uso onto the table but the table still managed to break.
Balor’s theme music played as his heartbeat synched up with his music, red lights and all, only for the rope to break while he was on the top rope.
