“I thought they were messing with me,” he stated. “I had known the shirt was released a couple of weeks ago before we knew that we were playing the Celtics, but I didn’t really expect any of the players to wear it on them.”
“Didn’t believe it at first, but then social media kind of went crazy with it, and I saw the posts from the Yankees and even the MLB, and I was just it was a really cool moment.”
For these of you not versed in Knicks fandom … Dantona grew to become a legend for his response in a Sidetalk video from the staff’s season opener in 2021 — the place he issued the “F*** Boston” line.
Dantona stated whereas it was a fast second in an intense collection between Yankee and Mets followers, it was cool to be part of the gang placing the rivalry apart for a second to return collectively to cheer on the Knicks.
“No matter who you’re rooting for, we’re all in on the Knicks and that’s kind of how the whole city feels,” he stated.

Whereas tickets value an arm and a leg, he hopes to attend Recreation 2 or Recreation 5 at MSG towards the Indiana Pacers, if the collection pans out that approach. However ultimately, he sees the Knicks heading to their first NBA Finals since 1999.
“This year looks like we’re healthy, Lord willing,” Dantona stated. “So I think we’re going to be taking them out in six games.”
