Jack Draper received the battle of the British No 1s as he and taking part in associate Jessica Pegula beat Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz within the first spherical of the US Open’s revamped, star-studded combined doubles competitors.
Draper and Pegula then went on to beat Daniil Medvedev and Mirra Andreeva within the quarter-finals to advance to Wednesday night time’s semi-finals in New York, the place they are going to play Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud.

Talking in his on-court interview after the match, Draper mentioned: “I’ve acquired a fairly good associate!
“What an experience out here playing with Jessica against Emma and Carlos.
“It would not get any higher than this, so it is only a pleasure to be out right here taking part in in opposition to them and with such an important participant.”
The semi-finals and final take place on Wednesday evening New York time, which is into the early hours of Thursday morning for UK viewers on Sky Sports.
Three Brits through, four out, in US Open Qualifying
Fran Jones, Harriet Dart and Oliver Crawford all advanced in qualifying for the US Open on Tuesday but Jack Pinnington Jones lost out in an epic scrap as four Britons packed their bags.
Jones, the top seed in qualifying, eased past Viktoria Hruncakova 6-3 6-4 as she looks to reach the main draw at Flushing Meadows for the first time.
But it was a much harder slog for Dart as she beat Anca Todoni 7-5 6-7 (3) 7-6 (10/6).
Crawford, the British number 10 who made his grand slam singles debut at Wimbledon as a wild card this year, advanced with a 5-7 6-4 6-4 win over Australia’s Alex Bolt.
Pinnington Jones, who reached the second round at Wimbledon, let three match points slip as he came out on the wrong end of a 3-6 7-6 (6) 7-6 (14/12) scoreline against Kazakhstan’s Beibit Zhukayev.
Heather Watson, George Loffhagen and Jan Choinski were also beaten in the first round on Tuesday.
