Caroline Garcia has spoken out in regards to the vile social media abuse she has obtained and stated it’s “damaging” gamers.
The Frenchwoman, who misplaced within the first spherical of the US Open on Tuesday, shared a few of the abuse she has been despatched in current weeks, which included a person telling her to kill herself and one other saying they wished her mum was lifeless.
She posted on Instagram and X, saying: “It really worries me when I think about younger players coming up, that have to go through this.
“Individuals that also have not but developed absolutely as a human and that actually may be affected by this hate.
“Maybe you can think that it doesn’t hurt us. But it does. We are humans. And sometimes, when we receive this messages we are already emotionally destroyed after a tough loss.
“And they are often damaging. Many earlier than me have raised the topic. And nonetheless, no progress has been made.
“I know those who write these terrible messages won’t change because of this.
