(Reuters) – The United Auto Staff (UAW) union stated on Wednesday it has set a strike deadline at Ford (NYSE:)’s device and die unit within the River Rouge Advanced over native contract points.
Ford’s Rouge Advanced – which employs about 6,000 – has greater than 500 staff within the device and die unit, based on a union official.
The union stated it can go on strike on Sept. 26 if native contract points will not be resolved, including that core points in negotiations included job safety, wage parity and work guidelines.
“We have been at the table problem-solving. Negotiations continue and we look forward to reaching an agreement with UAW Local 600 at Dearborn Tool & Die,” Ford stated.
On Tuesday, UAW president Shawn Fain stated the union plans to carry strike authorization votes at a number of of rival Stellantis (NYSE:)’ native chapters within the coming days.
