The 78th Cannes Movie Competition kicked off on Tuesday within the French Riviera, the place visitors have been requested to decorate extra modestly.

Robert De Niro accepts Palme D’or

Through the opening ceremony, actor Leonardo DiCaprio offered Robert De Niro with the distinguished Palme d’Or award. The 81-year-old, two-time Academy Award winner was honored for his legendary roles in movies comparable to The Godfather Half II (1974), Raging Bull (1980), Taxi Driver (1976) and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023).
