Earlier this week, tickets to Adele’s upcoming first Las Vegas residency went on sale, and demand was higher for her run of shows than anything other in recent memory. While she’s scheduled to perform for thousands of fans per night across several months, there still weren’t enough passes for everyone who wanted to go, and now some tickets have ended up on the secondary market. That’s good news…but just for those who can afford the exorbitant prices.

A quick look at Adele tickets on reselling platform StubHub shows that there are plenty of passes available, but only for the very wealthy. At present, there is only one evening with tickets priced at under $1,000, and they’re sure to disappear soon. The vast majority are priced at $1,250, $1,500 or more. Her final show in April doesn’t have a single offering under $2,000.

Those prices, while difficult to stomach, are only for seats in the back of the venue. Fans who want to be closer to the singer herself are going to have to dig deep to afford what will surely be a once-in-a-lifetime viewing. Passes to sit in the best section on select dates are going for $30,000 or more. That sum might be inflated due to the excitement of the tickets selling out so quickly, and it may drop before someone purchases it, but it certainly won’t go down to the rate Adele and her team originally set.

Tickets to the Grammy and Oscar winner’s Weekends With Adele residency sold out instantly, and they were scooped up by followers of the singer who signed up for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program. The process exists to help weed out some scalpers, but there’s almost no stopping some people from getting their hands on passes only to put them on the secondary market, where they can clearly make a killing.

Instead of touring her new album 30, Adele is headed to Sin City for a string of concerts that are loosely defined as a residency. Of course, her shows aren’t like what residencies in Las Vegas used to be, and her booking a venue for several months proves that the times have changed and that now these events are more interesting to current superstars, as opposed to chart-toppers from the past. Adele is slated to perform for a few thousand fans (which counts as an intimate gig for her) during weekends from January 21 until mid-April.
