The 11 Best Movies To Stream On Netflix This October

Of all the streaming platforms, Netflix NFLX is by far the most active. From week to week, month to month, the world’s most viral streaming service adds lots and lots of new movies to its digital library.

Which makes choosing a movie…well. Difficult.

Hopefully I can help. I scoured through every new movie hitting Netflix this month and picked out ten of my favorites. In this article, I’ll list them all out and include some trailers.

At the end of the article, you can find a full list of all the new movies and TV shows available on Netflix this month.

21 Jump Street

When cops Schmidt and Jenko join the secret Jump Street unit, they use their youthful appearances to go under cover as high-school students. They trade in their guns and badges for backpacks, and set out to shut down a dangerous drug ring. But, as time goes on, Schmidt and Jenko discover that high school is nothing like it was just a few years earlier—and, what’s more, they must again confront the teenage terror and anxiety they thought they had left behind.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Count Dracula, a 15th-century prince, is condemned to live off the blood of the living for eternity. Young lawyer Jonathan Harker is sent to Dracula’s castle to finalize a land deal, but when the Count sees a photo of Harker’s fiancée, Mina, the spitting image of his dead wife, he imprisons him and sets off for London to track her down.

It Follows

After carefree teenager Jay sleeps with her new boyfriend, Hugh, for the first time, she learns that she is the latest recipient of a fatal curse that is passed from victim to victim via sexual intercourse. Death, Jay learns, will creep inexorably toward her as either a friend or a stranger. Jay’s friends don’t believe her seemingly paranoid ravings, until they too begin to see the phantom assassins and band together to help her flee or defend herself.

Last Action Hero

Following the death of his father, young Danny Madigan takes comfort in watching action movies featuring the indestructible Los Angeles cop Jack Slater. After being given a magic ticket by theater manager Nick, Danny is sucked into the screen and bonds with Slater. When evil fictional villain Benedict gets his hands on the ticket and enters the real world, Danny and Jack must follow and stop him.

Passing

In 1920s New York City, a Black woman finds her world upended when her life becomes intertwined with a former childhood friend who’s passing as white.

This movie will be available on Netflix starting Nov. 10.

Red Notice

In the world of international crime, an Interpol agent attempts to hunt down and capture the world’s most wanted art thief.

This movie will be available on Netflix starting Nov. 12.

Tick, Tick… Boom!

On the cusp of his 30th birthday, a promising young theater composer navigates love, friendship and the pressures of life as an artist in New York City.

This movie will be available on Netflix starting Nov. 19.

A Boy Called Christmas

An ordinary young boy called Nikolas sets out on an adventure into the snowy north in search of his father who is on a quest to discover the fabled village of the elves, Elfhelm. Taking with him a headstrong reindeer called Blitzen and a loyal pet mouse, Nikolas soon meets his destiny.

A disgraced MMA fighter finds redemption in the cage and the courage to face her demons when the son she had given up as an infant unexpectedly reenters her life.
