Scotland eased to their first win on the T20 World Cup with a dominant 73-run victory over Italy at Eden Gardens
Match debutants Italy have been dealt a serious blow early within the Scotland innings when captain Wayne Madsen went off injured.
The 42-year-old suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder making an attempt to cease a 4 from George Munsey and was dominated out of the remainder of the match.
Munsey went on to hit 84, sharing a 126-run stand for the primary wicket with Michael Jones – who chipped in with 37.
Michael Leask rounded off the innings by clubbing 22 off 5 balls as Scotland, overwhelmed by West Indies of their first match, racked up 207 for 4.
Leask then eliminated Italy opener Justin Mosca first ball on his solution to 4 wickets as Italy. Munsey picked up an outstanding diving catch for that first wicket off the primary ball.
Regardless of a 52 from Ben Manenti, Italy have been in the end dismissed for 134.
