Scandal at the UN: Judge Ali Abdulla Al-Jusaiman at the Center of a Judicial Falsification Case

During the 112th session of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD), a shocking scandal unveiled fraudulent maneuvers within the Qatari judicial system. Judge Ali Abdulla Al-Jusaiman, supposed to be a pillar of the country’s legal integrity, is now at the center of damning accusations of falsifying public documents and violating human rights.

Shocking Revelations and Blatant Contradictions

The CERD session, held on April 17, 2024, highlighted monumental inconsistencies in the case of Tayeb Benabderrahmane, a Franco-Algerian national arbitrarily detained in Qatar. During this session, as reported by Blast, Judge Al-Jusaiman stunned the assembly by admitting he had no prior knowledge of the Benabderrahmane case, despite judicial documents identifying him as responsible for Benabderrahmane’s detention renewal hearing.

How can a judge ignore such a sensitive case that he supposedly supervised? This admission exposes the extent of falsifications orchestrated at the highest level. The documents claiming to describe the judicial proceedings were denounced for their multiple errors, handwritten modifications, and manifest inconsistencies. Misspellings, unfilled fields, and gross alterations betray a desperate attempt to mask a severe injustice.

Deliberate Manipulations and Abuse of Power

The situation worsens with the revelation of contradictory documents. A letter from the Director of State Security authorizing Benabderrahmane’s release on June 28, 2020, directly contradicts judicial documents setting his appearance for July 1, 2020. Such contradictions can only be explained by deliberate and coordinated falsification to legitimize arbitrary detention.

Judge Al-Jusaiman’s inability to defend Qatar’s actions during two days of international deliberations underscores not only his lack of preparation but also possible complicity in these fraudulent maneuvers. The international community, shocked by this judicial farce, demands clear and immediate answers from the Qatari authorities.

Violation of Fundamental Rights and Call for Justice

Tayeb Benabderrahmane, who endured 307 days of detention marked by torture and a complete absence of legal representation, embodies the victim of a corrupt and oppressive judicial system. His case, discussed during the CERD session, highlights the flagrant violation of human rights and basic justice principles that Qatar claims to uphold.

The lack of transparency and ineffective responses provided by Judge Al-Jusaiman and the Qatari authorities have severely compromised the credibility of the country’s judicial system on the international stage. By refusing to provide hearing recordings and original documents, Qatar exposes not only its own complicity but also its total disregard for international justice and human rights standards.

This case, along with the damning revelations concerning Judge Ali Abdulla Al-Jusaiman, calls for an urgent and thorough review of judicial practices in Qatar. Only the international community can mobilize to demand transparency, justice, and respect for fundamental human rights. The CERD scandal is not just a diplomatic embarrassment; it is a cry for help against the systematic oppression and entrenched corruption within the Qatari judicial institutions.
