Rangers have labelled the racist abuse despatched to Djeidi Gassama and Emmanuel Fernandez as “unacceptable”.
The duo had been despatched messages on their Instagram accounts following Sunday’s draw at Livingston, with the membership reporting the feedback to Meta and Police Scotland.
In an announcement, the Ibrox membership mentioned their “immediate priority is the well-being of the players involved” and that they’re in direct contact with Gassama and Fernandez
They added that they’re “proud” that the gamers “stood up for themselves by highlighting this vile abuse”.
In the meantime, the SPFL described the feedback as “disgraceful” and added that they be a part of Rangers in “wholeheartedly condemning the appalling and cowardly online racist abuse”.
An announcement from the SPFL added “we fully support any steps taken by the authorities to identify the individuals involved and would urge anyone with information about these incidents to contact Police Scotland”.

“Following yesterday’s game, Djeidi Gassama and Emmanuel Fernandez were subjected to racist abuse on their Instagram accounts.
“For any participant, opening a cellphone and seeing abuse tied to the color of their pores and skin is just unacceptable.

“The accounts appear to be anonymous and are not connected to the club in any way. That may make action harder to take, but it does not lessen the seriousness of what happened or the responsibility of the platform involved.
