Platform Nine and Three Quarters, an iconic site in King’s Cross station in London, which features in the Harry Potter films and books, will tour train stations around the U.K. to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone film on November 16th 2021.
In addition to a ‘20 Years of Movie Magic’ livestream occurring on September 1st (known as ‘Back to Hogwarts’ day to Harry Potter fans), Platform Nine and Three Quarters will tour five train stations across the U.K. between October 16th to October 31st.
Fans usually gather at the platform at London’s King’s Cross on September 1st at 11am (the usual time the Hogwarts Express leaves in the series), but the touring installation will give fans across the country a chance to appear as though they are running through the brick wall – a gateway between the ‘Muggle’ and ‘Wizarding World’, heading to catch the Hogwarts Express from the magical Platform Nine and Three Quarters.
Train stations will appear in the following stations across the country:
- Edinburgh Waverley Station – 16-18th October
- Birmingham New Street Station – 23rd – 25th October
- Cardiff Central Station – 26th – 28th October
- Belfast Lanyon Place Station – 29th – 31st October
