CAIRO (Reuters) -Nineteen folks in central Israel’s Sharon area have been injured, the Israeli police mentioned, after the navy reported the launch of three projectiles from Lebanon into Israeli territory early on Saturday.
The nationwide ambulance service beforehand reported that seven folks within the central Israeli city of Tira have been injured.
The Israeli navy mentioned that sirens sounded in a number of areas of central Israel after the projectile launch. Some projectiles had been intercepted, it mentioned.
“A fallen projectile was most likely identified in the area,” the military added, noting that particulars have been underneath investigation.
The nationwide ambulance service and native media mentioned the accidents in Tira ranged from delicate to average, whereas two different folks suffered stress signs.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq mentioned later in an announcement it had launched drones at a “vital target” in northern Israel. It was not instantly clear if the group’s motion was associated to the accidents.
Combating in Lebanon has escalated dramatically in current weeks between Israeli forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah group.
