KATHMANDU, Nepal — Nepal ‘s president on Friday appointed former Supreme Courtroom Chief Justice Sushila Karki as interim prime minister and the primary girl to move the Himalayan nation’s authorities, following fiery protests that collapsed the earlier administration.

Karki, a well-liked determine when serving because the court docket’s solely feminine chief justice in 2016 and 2017, was sworn in by President Ram Chandra Poudel on the presidential residence in a small ceremony broadcast on state-run tv.
