Last week, NCT 127 reached a new high on the Billboard 200 albums chart, the weekly ranking of the most-consumed musical projects in the U.S. The South Korean band’s latest release Sticker debuted at No. 3, beating the No. 5 high point of their previous set, and with their new hit release, the large vocal troupe made history in several ways on the most important albums roster in America.

Here’s a look at three ways NCT 127 made history on the Billboard 200.

Third Korean Act To Chart More Than One Top 10 Album

Sticker was NCT 127’s second project to break into the top 10 on the Billboard 200, which remains an accomplishment reserved for only the biggest K-pop groups with the most dedicated fan bases. The title follows in the footsteps of 2020’s Neo Zone, which peaked at No. 5 last March.

With a second top 10 title to their credit, NCT 127 became just the third South Korean musical act of any kind to appear inside the loftiest tier on the tally more than once. They joined BTS and SuperM with their latest hit project. BTS have thus far sent half a dozen projects into the highest space on the Billboard 200, while SuperM has snagged two wins. That means that NCT 127 is also tied for the second-most appearances inside the top 10 among K-pop names.

Second-Most Top 40 Albums Among Korean Acts

In its second week on the Billboard 200, Sticker falls from No. 3 to No. 32, finding space inside the top 40 once again. There are still many South Korean musical groups that haven’t yet been able to crack that important region, and doing so remains a notable feat.

With Sticker appearing inside the area at any point, NCT 127 tied Blackpink for the second-most top 40 albums among South Korean artists in U.S. history. Both groups have so far scored three winners, as NCT 127’s We Are Superhuman once stalled at No. 11, missing out on the highest tier by a single space. BTS lead all K-pop figures with 11 top 40 albums on the Billboard 200.

NCT 127’s third top 40 success broke them out of a tie with both SuperM and Tomorrow X Together for the third-most placements in the area.

Second-Most Placements On The Chart

Looking at their entire discography, NCT 127 has now appeared anywhere on the Billboard 200 (which obviously features 200 spaces) with four different releases, spread out over three years. A quartet of charting titles helped the boy band tie Exo and Tomorrow X Together for the second-most placements on the list among only South Korean artists. Expectedly, BTS lead all other K-pop figures, as the septet has now pushed 14 different releases to the ranking.
