The California man dealing with federal fees for allegedly texting Nancy Guthrie‘s household in regards to the bitcoin ransom cost has been granted bond by a choose — and could also be outta federal custody very quickly.
Derrick Callella, a 42-year-old man from Hawthorne, made his first court docket look Friday afternoon in U.S. District Courtroom in Santa Ana.

U.S. Justice of the Peace Decide Karen E. Scott ordered Callella to be launched on $20,000 bond … and he is been ordered to to not contact the alleged victims or witnesses.
Federal prosecutors declare Callella texted Nancy’s daughter Annie and her son-in-law Tommaso Cioni, “Did you get the bitcoin were [sic] waiting on our end for the transaction.”
The alleged texts had been despatched Wednesday … after ‘TODAY’ host Savannah Guthrie posted a video acknowledging the ransom letters that had been despatched to TMZ and two native retailers in Tucson, AZ.
To be clear … within the legal grievance towards Callella, the feds say the textual content messages he allegedly despatched Nancy’s household have NOT been linked to the ransom demand.
It is not clear if he’s out of the joint but … however Callella is due again in court docket subsequent Thursday for his arraignment.
