Teenage Alpine snowboarding champion Matilde Lorenzi has died after a crash throughout a coaching session in Italy.
Lorenzi, 19, fell whereas snowboarding on a slope in Val Senales, northern Italy, the nation’s defence ministry mentioned.

Lorenzi, who was hooked up to the Italian military, competed on the junior world championships final season, ending sixth within the downhill contest and eighth within the super-G occasion.

The crash comes months after World Cup skier Jean Daniel Pession and his girlfriend, Elisa Arlian, tragically died after falling greater than 2,000 ft off a mountain in Italy.
