Mark Cavendish is about to finish his skilled biking profession on the Tour de France Criterium in Singapore on November 9-10.
The 39-year-old has not competed since securing a report thirty fifth stage win on the Tour de France this summer season, surpassing Eddy Merckx.
Cavendish was initially set to retire in 2023 however postponed that after crashing in that 12 months’s Tour de France.
The Manx rider has received 165 races in his profession together with the 2011 world street title, whereas he claimed Olympic silver for Nice Britain within the omnium on the 2016 Video games in Rio de Janeiro.
Whereas amassing his knighthood earlier this month, Cavendish reiterated that he is not going to compete within the Tour de France once more, saying: “That’s public knowledge, I won’t do another Tour de France.”
He added of his profession: “I’m very lucky to have gotten to do what I really like for thus a few years, and to see different folks impressed by that and using bikes themselves.
“Seeing how many individuals experience bikes now, seeing the expansion of biking on this nation now and seeing how profitable we have develop into at it… it is extremely rewarding to be a part of that.
“It wonderful. I’m just a lad from the Isle of Man, to be a Knight Commander, that’s not something I could ever have dreamed of.”
