Katie Taylor has introduced she plans to retire following a summer season battle in Dublin.
Taylor, 39, retained her undisputed world tremendous light-weight title after edging her third battle towards Amanda Serrano in New York final July.
The formalities of her ultimate contest and opponent are but to be confirmed, with Taylor hopeful it may possibly happen at Croke Park, the place the All-Eire Hurling and Soccer Championships are set to be held in July.
“We are still trying to figure the details out, but I do have one more fight this year,” Taylor instructed RTE Sport.
“It is kind of like my retirement fight. It has been an amazing journey, the whole lot of it, over these last 20 years. That’s what we’re hoping and preparing for, to have one last fight. It is going to be an amazing celebration.”
Taylor added: “I simply need to battle in Dublin to finish my profession. Clearly we’re nonetheless hoping for Croke Park, hanging on to a little bit of hope that it may possibly occur.
“If it would not occur, there are many choices there. I’ve clearly fought within the 3Arena a few occasions, the Aviva Stadium can be there. Croke Park could be high of the record.
“Fighting my last fight in our most iconic arena, how special would that be? I think it would be absolutely remarkable if I was able to do that. I’m not sure if it is going to happen or not.
“Both method, I will be ending my profession right here and I am very, very enthusiastic about that.”
