The Israeli army stated on Saturday that it had struck targets within the Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, near the port metropolis of Hodeidah, following the months-long collection of Houthi assaults on Israeli targets. These included a drone assault on Tel Aviv Friday that killed an Israeli citizen and injured 10 others.

In what it referred to as an operational replace posted on social media, the Israel Protection Forces stated the places bombed by its fighter jets in Yemen had been army targets.

A spokesperson for the Houthis posted on social media that the Israeli jets had attacked civilian services, oil tanks and {the electrical} energy station within the metropolis of Hodeidah, in an effort to strain the group to finish its assist for Gaza — one thing the spokesperson, who goes by the net deal with @abdulsalamsalah, stated was a “dream that will not come true.”

He stated the Israeli retaliation would solely “increase the determination of the Yemeni people” who would proceed to assist the Palestinian individuals in what he termed “the most just cause on the face of the earth.”

Following that drone assault Friday that hit an residence constructing near the Tel Aviv beachfront, the Israeli army spokesperson, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, had stated Israel was combating a “multifront war” that included the Houthis, alongside Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iranian-backed teams in Iraq and Syria.

He stated the drone was supplied by Iran to the Houthis, and the circumstances had been being investigated.
