DWP’s Welcome To Rockville 2022 Festival Lineup Is Already Massive

Before the 2021 festival season came to a close, Danny Wimmer Presents was already behind the curtain prepping for an even bigger festival season for the year ahead. Realistically speaking, it’s hard to believe that DWP would pull off a lineup that could contend with this year’s immaculate headliners, namely Metallica, Slipknot, Gojira, The Original Misfits, Mastodon, and Mudvayne. These names alone are a once in a lifetime bill, and given the resounding success DWP had in 2021, many festival goers (myself included) were contemplating how and if DWP would be able to pull together another gargantuan sized lineup.

Sure enough, DWP’s 2022 festival lineup goes beyond these high expectations, as the headliners for next year’s Welcome To Rockville are none other than Guns n’ Roses, Foo Fighters, KISS, and Korn. These four headliners each span across a multitude of different rock sub-genres and generations, which makes for a seemingly unique and pleasant contrast compared to 2021’s lineup. Not to mention, Welcome to Rockville is said to feature over 75 acts, with additional headliners including Megadeth, Smashing Pumpkins, Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm, and several others.

However, one of the standout features from 2022’s lineup is the number of young and up-and-coming talent that’s present. Spiritbox, Tetrach, and Mammoth WVH are a few of the newer bands that are included in next year’s bill, but more notably their positioning on the 2022 flier suggests that they’re essential support. While this may seem like a small detail, it’s great to see DWP consistently putting forth newer and respected young talent, especially a band like Spiritbox, who’s proven they’re leaps and bounds above their early ‘hype’.

Lastly, while 2022’s Welcome To Rockville is undoubtedly an ambitious lineup, DWP founder, Danny Wimmer, has proclaimed it’s set to be one of the biggest rock lineups ever booked. “Welcome To Rockville this past November was truly incredible. Our new home, Daytona International Speedway, welcomed us with open arms and our fans showed up in record numbers and experienced an unforgettable weekend,” says Danny Wimmer. “We knew we needed to up the ante in 2022 so we went and booked the biggest lineup that has ever been booked for an American rock festival. We are so excited to welcome the biggest names in rock for one epic weekend this May.”
