The 33-year-old Indiana native opened up about his race expertise at Monday’s victory banquet … and whereas he completed eighth within the occasion, the takeaway was extra about No. 1 — particularly through the rain delay that postponed the beginning by about 45 minutes.
“Never in my life have I urinated in my car until Sunday,” Daly stated because the room exploded in laughter. “I was sitting on the grid, and I was like, ‘This is the best car I’ve ever been in in my whole life. I’m gonna have to pee in this thing.’ I kid you not.”
“I legitimately urinated in my racecar before the race even started.”
When requested if it was as a result of pleasure or his bladder filling up, Daly stated he “had to go really bad.”
After all, there was no different choice for Daly … as he needed to sit in his automobile and look ahead to the climate to cooperate.
He was in a position to crack some jokes about all of it … saying he wasn’t positive if it was his diabetes appearing up or simply previous age — one thing Helio Castroneves would learn about.
“He’s halfway to 100 [years old],” Daly stated lightheartedly. “I don’t know if that happens to him a lot.”
All that being stated, Daly gave a serious shoutout to his mechanics … as they’d fairly the issue to cope with on race day.
