Zach Ertz could not maintain again the tears after a giant hit resulted in him being carted off the sphere … and, there’s now hypothesis he will not play within the NFL once more.
The Washington Commanders tight finish took the sphere in his workforce’s recreation in opposition to the Minnesota Vikings Sunday … and, with about 2 minutes left within the third quarter, he jumped to try to catch a cross from QB Marcus Mariota.

Whereas within the air, Vikings security Jay Ward leaned down and went straight by way of Ertz leg … inflicting his knee to bend like elastic. It is a brutal hit … so, watch at your individual threat.
Ertz was carted off the sphere … and, Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn advised reporters the priority at this level is that the veteran star tore his ACL on the play.
Whereas he was being pushed off, Ertz may very well be seen turning into visibly emotional … comprehensible given the ache and frustration of the second alone — although some on-line are questioning if there was an much more emotional motive behind the tears.
Zach simply turned 35 … which is a bit of older for a good finish — and, it makes you marvel if this damage is one thing Ertz can, and even desires, to return from.
Ertz is in the midst of a stable season — 50 catches for 504 receiving yards and 4 TDs previous to the damage — so it appears he is received loads of juice within the tank. Whether or not he’ll need to play once more after such a tricky damage … we’ll simply have to attend and see.
