Shortly after the directive was posted, the company terminated various grant awards it claimed weren’t aligned with its present priorities, a lot of which had been for the plaintiff states, in accordance with the ruling.

The states filed the lawsuit on Might 28, alleging that NSF’s actions violate the legal guidelines, significantly the constitutional separation of powers, and “jeopardize America’s longstanding global leadership in STEM.”
