(Reuters) -The Chinese language-linked Salt Storm cyberespionage operation focused AT&T (NYSE:) and Verizon (NYSE:)’s methods, however the wi-fi carriers’ U.S. networks at the moment are safe as they work with legislation enforcement and authorities officers, the businesses stated on Saturday of their first acknowledgment of the assaults.

“We detect no activity by nation-state actors in our networks at this time. Based on our current investigation of this attack, the People’s Republic of China targeted a small number of individuals of foreign intelligence interest,” an AT&T spokesperson stated.
