The brutal regime of Bashar al Assad fell over the weekend with dizzying pace. Syrians inside the nation and around the globe burst into celebration.
Now, the insurgent group Hay’at Tahrir al Sham, or HTS has to control. They’re designated a terrorist group by the US.
And a few fear that HTS may slide into it is personal sort of autocratic regime.
That worry isn’t unfounded. Throughout the Center East and North Africa, many revolutions have overthrown autocrats, just for these nations to descend again into chaos or a extra oppressive rule.
