BTS has announced they are going on a much-deserved break, which will allow the members to relax, recharge and spend time with loved ones. While the group as an entity might not be releasing anything, the seven performers that make up the globe-dominating outfit are free to do what they like, and one of them has a new song dropping this Friday (December 10) with an unexpected collaboration partner.
Suga has been announced as one of the featured musicians on Juice WRLD’s upcoming album Fighting Demons. The late rapper’s Twitter account shared the cover art and the tracklist for the set, including which musicians are credited on which tracks. The list includes such well-known figures as Justin Bieber, Polo G, Trippie Redd and, surprisingly, Suga from BTS.
The South Korean musician is named as a featured act on the song “Girl of My Dreams,” which appears later on the album. He is credited as Suga from BTS, instead of Agust D, which is a name he uses when releasing his own solo material. He has used that title before, such as on the track “Suga’s Interlude” from Halsey’s album Manic.
Fighting Demons marks the second posthumous album from Juice WRLD. The rising hip-hop talent passed away in late 2019, and since then he has remained incredibly popular. In fact, he reportedly left behind so much unreleased art that his estate will be giving it to fans for some time to come. In the summer of 2020, less than a year after his passing, the rapper’s first posthumous album Legends Never Die went right to No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Many of the tunes featured on it became big hits on the Hot 100, with 13 of them shooting right into the top 40 region on the competitive list.
Based on how well his first posthumous release performed, it wouldn’t be strange to see Suga and WRLD appear on a number of Billboard charts in a few days. The album is almost guaranteed to debut inside the top 10 on the Billboard 200 after its first full tracking week passes, and the individual songs could appear on various lists the same week.
