BTS Member V Scores His First Solo Hot 100 Hit In America With ‘Christmas Tree’

V, one of the seven members of the pop band BTS, is about to enjoy his biggest week ever on the Billboard charts. His new single “Christmas Tree” has turned out to be a massive seller, and all those purchases have helped the tune land on the most important songs ranking in the country.

According to Billboard, “Christmas Tree” is slated to debut on the Hot 100 in less than a day. The chart will be refreshed tomorrow (January 5), and when it is, V will appear at No. 79 with his latest release. This new hit marks his first trip to the tally without the band that made him a star.

“Christmas Tree” benefits from a very healthy sales sum, and it’s all those fans deciding to head to iTunes, Amazon and other download stores to actually buy a copy of the seasonal cut that have helped make it a standout smash for the performer. The tune has been announced as the No. 1 bestselling title in the country, selling 23,500 copies, according to MRC Data.

V is now the third member of BTS to reach the Hot 100. He joins bandmates Suga and J-Hope in this accomplishment. Of the trio of musicians, only Suga has appeared on the tally more than once, and he’s done so under different names. He landed a solo smash with his Agust D project, and just two weeks ago he returned to the list alongside Juice WRLD as Suga.

“Christmas Tree” is one of several debuts on this week’s Hot 100, which isn’t quite as busy with holiday tunes as in the previous frames. Also arriving are several tunes from the soundtrack that accompanies the animated film Encanto.
