(Reuters) -BHP Group posted a 3% rise in first-quarter iron ore output on Thursday as the worldwide mining big benefited from efforts to ease bottlenecks at its Western Australia operations.
The corporate’s South Flank operations ramped as much as full operational capability of 80 million tonnes (Mt) within the earlier quarter.
The world’s largest listed miner stated iron ore output from Western Australia on a 100% foundation was 71.6 million tonnes (Mt) within the three months to Sept. 30, beating a Seen Alpha consensus estimate of 70.7 Mt in keeping with Macquarie.
BHP recorded Western Australia iron ore output of 69.4 Mt in the identical quarter of final 12 months.
