A distinct Artur Beterbiev can be searching for a knockout in his rematch with Dmitry Bivol, in response to promoter Bob Arum.
Of their undisputed light-heavyweight world title struggle in October, Beterbiev received a contentious majority choice.
However he’ll go straight right into a February 22 rematch with Bivol, placing all 4 of the key 175lb world title belts again on the road.
“When the rematch was offered to Beterbiev he never hesitated to accept it. I assume Bivol the same,” High Rank founder and CEO Arum informed Sky Sports activities.
“There was a bit of debate, it was a very close fight. I thought Beterbiev won that fight,” he continued. “So I feel will probably be a very good struggle.
“I thought that Beterbiev in the first fight was a little too tentative till the later rounds. I think it will be different this fight.”
Bivol did grow to be the primary skilled opponent to go the gap with Beterbiev. That, although, will spur the champion on for the rematch.
“The only way he wins every fight that he fought was by knockout and he did not win that fight by knockout. So obviously he would want to win the fight by knockout and he almost had the guy going in the last couple of rounds,” Arum mentioned.
High Rank chairman Todd DuBoef can be satisfied Beterbiev will need to go away little doubt on this second struggle.
“He’s never had a decision other than the last fight, I think he goes for it every time,” DuBoef informed Sky Sports activities.
“I felt that his ring generalship and domination, putting the pressure and making the fight happen, was a resounding win for him. And I felt that you could see the body language of Bivol late in the fight as that pressure kept coming and coming.
“The query is, does Artur begin that earlier? Can he begin that in spherical one?
“I think it started maybe more in three or four, where he really started to come on. But start that in round one.
“I feel if that struggle went two extra rounds, I do not suppose Bivol was getting out of the ring. Possibly he discovered from that and we’ll see.”
