Bryan Danielson def. Anthony Bowens

Max Caster stole the show before it even began, with the topical bars: “I’ma put you into poverty, dog, cuz I end careers quicker than your father-in-law.”

Anthony Bowens got a lot in this match and even got to showcase his new “Arrival” move, a twisting suspension DDT from the corner. Against any other opponent, that would have been the finish.

CM Punk and Eddie Kingston Come Face-to-Face

Few talking segments are worth a teaser via commercial break, but CM Punk vs. Eddie Kingston on the mic is one of them.

This promo exchange was the best thing CM Punk has done since arriving in AEW. There is a realness to Eddie Kingston and his storytelling that nobody in this industry can surpass and CM Punk worked wonders with it.

As expected, Eddie Kingston received a lot of support from this crowd and CM Punk seemed like the heel at various moments when he condescended to Kingston and called him a “bum” and an “AEW Dark” wrestler.

Red Velvet def. The Bunny

The Bunny worked well with Red Velvet, who continues to improve in the ring.

Red Velvet vs. Jade Cargill is going to be the ultimate David vs. Goliath type of match, and while it will be kept short, I expect it to be very entertaining.

Adam Cole def. John Silver

AEW still hasn’t adequately explained to its television audience why John Silver calls Adam Cole “Budge.”

While standing next to John Silver, Adam Cole actually looked pretty tall for a change.

Even though they were just cornering Adam Cole, the Young Bucks still did their signature double-kiss on Cole while Cole had Silver trapped in a Camel Clutch on the outside.

Adam Cole landed right on the back of his neck while taking a clothesline bump, but seemed no worse for wear.

For a brief moment, it seemed like Silver was actually going to pull off the upset. The crowd even chanted “holy [expletive]” after a close nearfall.
