Sammy Guevara def. Tony Nese—TNT Championship
God love Tony Nese, who predictably worked well with Sammy Guevara, but who the hell thought he had a chance in this one?
Not since Enzo Amore has a babyface been so beloved despite wearing leopard-skin print.
Jade Cargill def. Janai Kai
The brawl after this match between Jade Cargill and Thunder Rosa lasted longer than Jade’s match against Janai Kai.
MORE FOR YOU
The fact that Taz made a big deal about Thunder Rosa going toe-to-toe with Jade Cargill tells me Jade is likely going to win, as she should.
FTR def. Penta El Zero M and PAC
Judging by how FTR’s robes fit them, it’s like they’re wearing robes originally meant for Luchasaurus.
PAC continues to sell the black mist from Malakai Black by wearing an eye patch.
PAC legitimately botched a hip toss, but the announcers covered for him by blaming his eye patch. PAC then went on to (kayfabe) botch a springboard, which was once again blamed on his eye patch, so it all worked out.
Malakai Black blew more black mist in PAC’s eye. Am I now to believe that PAC will be wearing two eye patches?
This was a fine main event, but coming off its lowest viewership ever, this card lacked the star power for a significant rebound. Thankfully, after 431,000 viewers there’s nowhere to go but up (I think.)
