Academy Award-winning actor and producer Benicio del Toro is partnering with Exile Content Studio to help create a slate of scripted and unscripted TV projects in both English and Spanish from emerging artists and creators.
“When it comes to creative minds that are pushing the boundaries with unique content in Hollywood, Benicio del Toro quickly comes to mind,” said Alejandro Uribe, CEO of Exile Content Studio, in making the announcement. “We discovered in our early conversations with Benicio that his commitment to harnessing Latin American talent and producing impactful content lines up with our continued strategy going into the new year. The timing was perfect so we couldn’t be more optimistic about this collaboration.”
Del Toro joins Exile’s creative advisory board, led by Wharton professor Adam Grant. The deal marks del Toro’s first long-term agreement with a production entity.
“I’m excited to bring life to these underrepresented voices and stories by partnering with Exile Content… and look forward to bringing our stories to global audiences,” said del Toro.
Exile has yet to reveal its first collaborations with the actor. However, the company says del Toro will be directly involved in several scripted and unscripted projects in 2022. As of now, there is no immediate plan for the actor to star in any of those projects.
Founded in 2018, Los Angeles-based Exile Content Studio produces long and short-form content in Spanish and English for global audiences across multiple platforms — TV, film, audio and digital. It recently co-produced Todo Va A Estar Bien with Diego Luna as showrunner for Netflix
