Former Main League Baseball pitcher Scott Sauerbeck has died on the age of 53, the Pittsburgh Pirates introduced on Thursday.
Particulars surrounding his passing haven’t been revealed.
The Pirates household mourns the passing of Scott Sauerbeck.
Scott performed for the Bucs from 1999-2003 and shares the membership document for many video games pitched by a LHP in a single season.

Sauerbeck was chosen by the New York Mets within the twenty third spherical of the 1994 draft. After spending time in New York’s farm system, Pittsburgh then scooped up the Miami College (Ohio) product as a part of the Rule 5 Draft in 1998.
He made his large league debut for the Pirates in the course of the 1999 season. In his five-year stint within the Metal Metropolis, he pitched 308.2 innings — incomes an ERA of three.56. In 2002, he appeared in a franchise document 78 video games, ending with a 2.30 ERA.
Sauerbeck was traded to Boston the next 12 months … and would go on to overlook the complete 2004 season after present process surgical procedure to restore a torn labrum and rotator cuff in his left shoulder.
