Tiger Woods has introduced he won’t play at this week’s Genesis Invitational, the event he hosts.
Woods’ mom Kultida handed away final week on the age of 78, with the previous world No 1 expressing his “heartfelt sadness” when saying the information on social media.
On Monday, Woods, who had been set to make his first PGA Tour look of the yr at Torrey Pines, mentioned in an announcement on X: “I deliberate to tee it up this week, however I am simply not prepared.
“I did my best to prepare, knowing it’s what my mom would have wanted, but I’m still processing her loss.
“Due to everybody who has reached out. I hope to be at Torrey later within the week and respect the continued kindness since my mother’s passing.”
Woods’ final official event look got here at The Open at Royal Troon final July, when he missed the lower for the third consecutive main.
The 49-year-old has since performed alongside his son, Charlie, on the PNC Championship simply earlier than Christmas and featured within the new TGL event, the indoor golf league that he co-founded.
