Graham Potter has signed the contract which confirms him as the brand new West Ham United supervisor, Sky Sports activities Information has been instructed.
West Ham have known as a press convention for 9am on Thursday morning on the London Stadium.
Potter – who may take cost of a tricky FA Cup third-round journey to Aston Villa on Friday – is about to return to administration 20 months since he was sacked by Chelsea simply seven months and 31 matches right into a five-year contract.
The time is correct for Potter
Sky Sports activities Information’ Kaveh Solhekol:
“He was ready for West Ham to do what they’ve achieved and parted methods with Lopetegui.
“The timing works for each. West Ham want a little bit of stability proper now. It is a good match as a result of Graham Potter needs a challenge. He is able to get again into mangement.
“I believe the house owners and followers will like his model of soccer, the truth that he promotes youth, the actual fact he likes a progressive model.
“But can he get that instant success? Five of their next seven Premier League matches are London derbies – and in the middle of those is a return to Stamford Bridge.”
‘Sporting director Steidten might be below scrutiny’
Sky Sports activities Information reporter Dharmesh Sheth:
“I think there will be quite a lot of eyeballs on sporting director Tim Steidten.
“Julen Lopetegui was the unanimous alternative among the many board to take over as West Ham supervisor; if you happen to converse to some followers, they felt just a little bit underwhelmed by the appointment. Now he is gone, you’d assume there’s going to be a little bit of stress on Steidten.
“They spent over £100m in the summer, and he was central to that recruitment. By definition, because Lopetegui has gone, you can almost call those first few weeks a bit of a failure and what they looked like in the transfer window.
“Looking forward to this switch window, I believe it should be actually fascinating to see the type of offers West Ham do and much more scrutiny on their sporting director.”
