(Reuters) -Marvel, a food-delivery startup led by former Walmart (NYSE:) government Marc Lore, is in superior talks to purchase Grubhub from Amsterdam-based Simply Eat Takeaway.com, the Wall Avenue Journal reported on Tuesday, citing folks aware of the matter.
The European firm had acquired Grubhub in 2020 in an all-stock deal for $7.8 billion, creating the world’s largest meals supply firm outdoors China on the time.
A deal for Grubhub might be finalized imminently, assuming the talks don’t crumble, the report stated, including that Grubhub is prone to be valued under $1 billion in any deal.
