Anna Kendrick is starring in and directing a brand new film about “Dating Game Killer” Rodney Alcala … and he or she simply launched the primary trailer, and it is tremendous fascinating.
The film is known as “Woman of The Hour” and it is coming to Netflix later this month … with Anna enjoying Cheryl Bradshaw, the girl who Alcala gained a date with in a 1978 episode of the basic sport present.
Cheryl infamously bailed on the date with Alcala after really assembly him, as a result of she discovered him to be “creepy” … and years later, a California jury discovered Alcala had been on a killing spree earlier than his TV debut.
Alcala was finally convicted of killing a number of ladies and a baby in Orange County … and he was suspected or linked to murders in Washington, Arizona, New York and New Hampshire.
The serial killer died in 2021 whereas on dying row in California.
Anna’s taking her first shot at directing right here, and Netflix describes her film because the “stranger-than-fiction story of an aspiring actress in 1970s Los Angeles and a serial killer in the midst of a yearslong murder spree, whose lives intersect when they’re cast on an episode of The Dating Game.”
The flick drops Oct. 18 on Netflix.
