HANOI (Reuters) – Hurricane Yagi and the landslides and floods it triggered have killed at the very least 58 folks and 40 others are lacking in northern Vietnam, the catastrophe administration company stated on Tuesday.

Many of the victims had been killed in landslides and flash floods, the company stated in a report, including that almost 750 folks have been injured.

The storm made landfall on Saturday on Vietnam’s northeastern coast, devastating a big swath of commercial and residential areas and bringing heavy rains that brought on harmful floods and landslides.

A number of rivers in northern Vietnam have risen to alarming ranges, leaving villages and residential areas inundated, in line with the company and state media.

A 30-year-old bridge over the Crimson River within the northern province of Phu Tho collapsed on Monday, leaving eight lacking, in line with an announcement from the provincial Folks’s Committee.

Authorities have subsequently banned or restricted site visitors on different bridges throughout the river, together with Chuong Duong Bridge in Hanoi, in line with state media experiences.
