HARARE (Reuters) – About 68 million individuals in Southern Africa are struggling the results of an El Nino-induced drought which has worn out crops throughout the area, the regional bloc SADC stated on Saturday.

The drought, which began in early 2024, has hit crop and livestock manufacturing, inflicting meals shortages and damaging the broader economies.

Heads of state from the 16-nation Southern African Growth Group (SADC) had been assembly in Zimbabwe’s capital Harare to debate regional points together with meals safety.
