Israel says its forces carried out a “targeted strike” within the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital of Beirut Tuesday in retaliation for a rocket assault that killed 12 youngsters and teenagers on Saturday within the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights.
The Israeli army stated in a press release it was focusing on a commander of the Iran-backed militia Hezbollah which it blamed for Sunday’s rocket assault.
A big explosion rocked the southern a part of the town, witnesses stated, and video from the scene confirmed a big cloud of smoke rising from the realm.
The strike got here because the worldwide neighborhood urged restraint from each side, fearing that an escalation on the Israel-Lebanon border may spark an all-out struggle.
