Summer Walker rules the Billboard 200 albums chart this week with her sophomore full-length Still Over It, which debuts in first place with one of the largest starting sums of 2021. The singer-songwriter also conquers the Hot 100, though not by landing at No. 1. The R&B musician matches one of the most impressive accomplishments by a woman in the ranking’s decades-long history with her latest set, which performs better than almost any projects ever has on the most important songs ranking in the U.S.
18 of the 20 songs featured on Still Over It appear on the Hot 100 that will be published by Billboard tomorrow (November 16), according to the company. It’s not often that an artist occupies more than 10% of the chart at one time, and filling 18 of the 100 available spots is a showing reserved for the biggest and most popular artists in the industry, and that obviously now includes Walker.
By claiming 18 spots on the Hot 100 at once, Walker ties Taylor Swift for the most simultaneous placements on the tally among women. Swift became the first female artist in history to occupy 18% of the ranking when all the tunes featured on her album Lover appeared on the list at the same time.
New song “No Love” with fellow female R&B icon SZA opens as the highest-charting of the bunch, as it arrives at No. 13. The tune is now the highest placement for Walker, who previously topped out at No. 16 with previous single “Playing Games.” Two other tunes from Still Over It start inside the top 40, as “Bitter” with Cardi B launches at No. 25 while the album’s lead single “Ex For a Reason” with JT from City Girls, leaps into the important region for the first time.

Joining Walker in this incredible demonstration of power (in addition to the aforementioned acts) are fellow musicians Lil Durk, Omarion, Pharrell and Ari Lennox, who appears on the Hot 100 for the first time in her career with the collaboration “Unloyal.”
With 17 new Hot 100 hits to her credit, Walker more than doubles her total number of placements on the ranking. Before this week, she had sent a dozen tunes to the list, and now she’s up to 29 smashes. Walker will almost certainly dominate Billboard’s R&B-only charts as well, as her tracks were just too popular to beat this time around.
