Joseph Parker could be prepared to place a compulsory shot at Oleksandr Usyk in danger to field Moses Itauma instantly after his upcoming combat with Fabio Wardley.
Parker has recommended he is open to combating Itauma in December if he comes by unscathed in opposition to Wardley later this month.
Itauma is because of field in December, however is ready for his subsequent opponent to be confirmed.
Parker fights Wardley on the O2 Area in London, so boxing two months later could be an extremely quick turnaround for a contemporary heavyweight.
It might even be an enormous gamble. If Parker does beat Wardley, undisputed heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk must combat him subsequent to retain the WBO title. Boxing Itauma within the interim would threat that place.
However the New Zealander has thrown his hat into the ring to face Itauma after Wardley.
“I don’t want to be out of the ring for too long. This fighting once a year is just not good enough. I want to fight as often as I can and if all goes well with Wardley on October 25, put me in the ring again at the end of the year,” Parker insisted.
“I would take any fight there is. I know Moses is a great talent. He can only fight who is in front of him and he’s been able to take care of business every time.
“He is younger, he is highly effective, he is quick and that may be one other combat I’d like to take. I am going to take any combat. I am not even on this boxing sport to be taking my time, selecting this combat or selecting that combat, I am going to combat anybody.”
Itauma’s devastating first-round knockout win over Dillian Whyte in August despatched out a warning to the heavyweight division. However Parker is unfazed.
Parker stated: “Listen, he’s a big threat. He’s a very talented young fighter who is just dominating whoever is in front of him so of course everyone’s going to ask for big money, but if it can happen, it will happen.”
