BANGKOK — A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers pushed for extra military-to-military dialogue in a gathering Sunday with China’s Premier Li Qiang, a uncommon congressional go to for the reason that U.S.-China relations soured.

“China and the U.S. are the two most powerful and influential countries in the world, it’s really important that we get along, and we find a way to peacefully coexist in the world,” Smith stated. “I really welcome your remarks about wanting to build and strengthen that relationship.”

Trump stated he would meet Chinese language chief Xi Jinping at a regional summit going down on the finish of October in South Korea and can go to China within the “early part of next year,” following a prolonged cellphone name between the 2 on Friday.
